Statement
By conflicting real or mythic points of origin, traditions of American identity and personal lineage, my work gathers narrative into an increasingly singular entropic condition. To be swept up in making is to escape the present. I work with histories I cannot grasp, but of which I can feel the weight. Through abstraction I examine my place in these histories. I take the parts that are essential, and distill them into sensations about history.
